I am pregnant with our first child why might I need your help?

First time parents are often overwhelmed by the enormity of having their first baby and may feel they are unqualified for this new chapter in their life. New parents feel they need advice, guidance, rest and someone to answer questions.

Unfortunately there isn’t an instruction book or even job description for being a new parent! This can make it very difficult to understand what you are doing really well and where you may need some support or guidance. I apply my skills and knowledge combined with a wealth of experience to ensure you achieve the best for your situation. This allows you to learn and develop the confidence as a parent to lead your child’s development as they progress.

Whether your partner works away, you have no extended family support locally, you are the parents of multiples or you are recovering from giving birth you could find you need extra support.
Whatever the situation I will offer the support you need.

How long and how many nights a week should I book you as a maternity nurse?

Requirements depend on people’s individual needs. I will discuss your thoughts with you and make suggestions to tailor something that will be appropriate.

What happens when you leave, how will I cope?

I provide one week of phone and email support free of charge after I leave so any queries that come up can be easily dealt with. I also offer an aftercare package so you can have continuing support beyond this period from someone who knows you and your family unit well.

We are expecting twins and are worried about how we’ll cope.

Having multiples seems like a huge challenge but don’t worry, we take one step at a time. It is important to me that you are able to deal with the babies comfortably by yourself so when I finish working you are happy and enjoying your new family. I have worked with numerous sets of twins over the years so from my experience I am able to share my knowledge to enable your babies to be happy, well rested and content individuals. My aim is to leave you less daunted, more able and enjoying being parents.

My friends tell me when you have children you shouldn’t expect a decent night’s sleep, but I’m shattered is that true?

No, this is not true! There are times when a child is ill or unsettled by something when their sleep is disturbed but once they no longer need night time feeds babies and children can sleep through the night. When they do have a good night’s sleep they are happier and therefore more ready to learn and explore their world. Little Solutions can achieve this with you.
